  • MARTIN BRIGHT LGSM is a free-lance musician based in Cambridgeshire. He has a wide range of experience as a percussionist: 
  • playing in Symphony Orchestras in the major London venues
  • West End theatre productions
  • performing abroad in Norway, France, Italy and Belguim, taking part in Afro-Cuban ceremonies in Havana, Cuba

MARTIN BRIGHT LGSM studied percussion at the Royal College of Music under Alan Cumberland (LPO), Janos Keszei (BBCSO), and Michael Skinner (ROH) and composition with Bernarnd Stevens. He owes a great debt of gratitude to these very fine musicians.


As a composer Martin's works have ranged from classical chamber music (performed in various venues including the Purcell room at the South Bank and the British Music Informaton Centre, London) to Jazz fusion and Cuban style arrangements performed by his bands around the country.

When not gigging, MARTIN runs a variety of music workshops around the country including; teacher training (as well as working as a consultant for the Artstart5 training project), various percussion sessions and demonstrations, family work and music for hearing impaired children and adults with learning difficulties.

He also teaches percussion at home and in several schools in north Cambridgeshire.
